Elk City Lake Park – Elk City, OK

Located just south of Elk City, OK, Elk City Lake Park provides 5 RV sites that sit right next to the water.  The park was clean and well maintained when we visited, and had several amenities. Those included showers, toilets, a boat ramp, fishing pier, play areas, picnic tables, potable water, and electrical hookups. These sites were quiet and comfortable, though they are first come first serve, so if you are eyeing one of them it is best to come in the morning.  The biggest negative that we could see was that the shower facility was a good ways from the RV sites.  If you want a shower, be prepared to walk a bit!  It is important to note that these site’s purpose is to bring more travelers thru Elk City, Oklahoma and should you choose to stay here, you are encouraged to explore the town and be a customer.  Our favorite part of exploring the town was their Route 66 Museum complex.  We paid $14 total for the three of us, and it was 6 ( I think?) museums in one!  The Route 66 Museum itself was quite interesting, but they’ve added several others as well such as a rodeo museum, the Old Town Museum, and a farm equipment museum.  Be sure and check it out while you are there, it’s quite the education.
